City Of Kitchener And Waterloo Modified Hours: What's Open What's Closed Over Holidays?

City facilities have modified hours over the holidays

KITCHENER – City of Kitchener facilities and buildings will have modified hours for the holidays.

CITY HALL

City hall offices will be open 8:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Dec. 26 for the statutory holidays. Offices will also be open 8:30 a.m. until noon on Dec. 31 and closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

The building, however, will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 24-27 and Jan. 1. On Dec. 31, the building will be open until 12:30 a.m. for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The outdoor rink in Carl Zehr Square at Kitchener City Hall is open on the following dates:

Dec. 24: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Dec. 25: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Dec. 26: 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Dec. 31: 9 a.m. – 1 a.m.   

KITCHENER MARKET

The Kitchener Market will be closed for holidays from Tuesday, Dec. 24 to Thursday, Dec. 26 as well as on Tuesday Dec. 31, and Wednesday, Jan 1. The full Saturday market will be open on Dec. 28 during regular hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the upper level food hall will be open Friday, Dec. 27, during regular hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The food hall will re-open for regular operating hours on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.

THE AUD AND ARENAS

Operating hours for the Activa Box Office at The Aud during the holiday season are posted online at www.theaud.ca/buytickets.

The Aud will be open until noon on Dec. 24 and 31 and closed on Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.  

 

All community arenas and the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation indoor track at Activa Sportsplex are closed Dec. 25, 26, and Jan. 1.

The Activa Sportsplex and the LyleS. Hallman Foundation indoor track will be open from 7 a.m. -9 a.m. on Dec. 24 and 31. All other community arenas are closed.

POOLS

All indoor pools are closed Dec. 24- 26, Dec. 31 and Jan 1. Cameron Heights pool is closed Dec. 23- Jan. 5, 2020.

BUDD PARK

Budd Park will be closed Dec. 21 through Jan. 5, reopening for regular scheduled programs on Jan. 6, 2020.

COMMUNITY CENTRES

All community centres will be open 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 24 and will be closed Dec. 25 and 26 for the statutory holidays. On Dec. 31, centres will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and will close again on Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

KITCHENER PUBLIC LIBRARY

All Kitchener Public Library locations will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24, and will be closed all day on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26. All library locations will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 31, and will be closed all day on Jan. 1, 2020. Regular library hours will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020. All library locations are currently closed on Sundays. Sunday hours will resume (at the Central Library only) starting Jan. 5, 2020. For more information, visit www.kpl.org/hours.
