Regional Police Arrest Male In Child Sexual Assault Incidents Spanning Six Years

Police Implimented Comprehensive Investigative Techniques Across Entire Service

Waterloo Region, Ontario Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection to an investigation into three separate sexual assaults against young girls in Waterloo Region.

The 32-year-old Milton male was arrested at approximately 5:30 p.m. on August 15, 2019.

He is facing several charges, including three counts of Sexual Assault and three counts of Sexual Interference and is scheduled to appear in Kitchener’s Ontario Court of Justice on August 16, 2019.

The charges relate to three separate sexual assaults against young girls that occurred between 2013 and 2019 in Waterloo Region.

On October 20, 2013, between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., a four-year-old girl was inside an apartment building, located at 429 Barrie Street in Waterloo, when she was approached by a male and sexually assaulted.

On October 27, 2017, at approximately 7 p.m., a six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in an apartment building, located at 318 Patricia Avenue in Kitchener.

On July 6, 2019, at approximately 8 p.m., a four-year-old girl was playing in the area of 16 Brybeck Crescent in Kitchener when she was approached by a male in the common area of an apartment building and sexually assaulted.

DNA analysis completed by the Centre of Forensic Sciences linked the three incidents. 

This complex investigation involved a combination of comprehensive investigative techniques led by members across our entire Service, including our Major Crime Unit, Investigative Services Division, Neighbourhood Police, and Forensic Identification.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service would like to thank members of the community for the outpouring of tips and information provided throughout the course of this investigation. We would also like to thank the Centre of Forensic Sciences and the OPP Behavioural Sciences and Analysis Services Unit. As well, we would like to thank members of the media for their continued coverage of this investigation.

Although we are confident that the person responsible for these three incidents has been arrested, we continue to investigate further and we encourage anyone with any information to please come forward.
