Joe Nowak Edges Out Bernia Wheaton By Only 23 Votes

If you ever thought that a few voters here and there don't really influence the outcome of an election, think again. The 2018 Municipal election in Wellesley township was a perfect example.

When it was all said and done incumbent mayor Joe Nowak edged out his opponent Bernia Wheaton by just 23 votes.

Nowak was first elected mayor in 2014. Prior to that he served as a township councillor.

Wheaton is a business owner who was also previously the economic development officer for the Rural Oxford Economic Development Corp.

Two councillors will return to their roles after being acclaimed.
