A 6,000-year-old process, indigo is one of the oldest known dyes. Due to its historic value within trading circles, indigo was coined “blue gold.' This introductory workshop focuses on an indigo vat dyeing process using resist-based techniques along with Japanese tie-dye, or shibori. Participants will also learn how to make their own indigo stock. Materials include working with fabric, paper, pattern and drawing. No experience necessary. Instructor: Tara Cooper | $70 + HST
